Derek Martin Started With One Truck and One Rule
Derek started Utah's Moving and Storage while still in college. One truck, one idea: what if a moving company actually cared about the people they moved? Not as a tagline, but as a hiring policy, a training standard, and a daily practice.
That meant no temp workers — ever. Every employee is hired, trained, and developed in-house. Before a crew member touches a customer's home, they've been background checked, drug tested, and trained to crew leader level. Not because it's required. Because it's right.
Ten years later, the truck is a fleet and the college kid runs a company. But the promise is the same: one dedicated crew, your move, start to finish. No bait-and-switch estimates, no third-party cargo transfers, no strangers showing up on moving day.
